VitalDay is an iOS app that helps you plan your day and wind down at night. It reads health data from Apple Health, with your permission, to give you a Morning Readiness check-in and a Night Prep summary. This page explains what we read, why, and where it goes.
What VitalDay is
A wellness planning app. It is wearable-agnostic. Whatever sends data to Apple Health (Apple Watch, Garmin, Oura, third-party apps) can feed VitalDay. In v1, VitalDay does not connect directly to Garmin or any wearable API.
What data we may read from Apple Health
Only what you allow. Depending on your permissions, this can include:
- Sleep data and sleep stages
- Resting heart rate, heart rate, and heart rate variability (HRV)
- Steps, active energy, and workouts
- Walking and running distance, flights climbed
- Respiratory rate (if available)
- Oxygen saturation (if available)
- Body mass (if available)

- Night Prep, a short wind-down summary
- Daily planning suggestions
- Sleep and habit reflection
- A local history and calendar of your check-ins
Where your data lives
In v1, VitalDay is local-first. Your health data is processed on your device. Reports and preferences are stored locally on your device. There is no VitalDay account, no login, and no backend server holding your health data.
Sharing
We do not sell your health data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with third parties in v1.
Your control
- You manage Apple Health permissions in iOS Settings or the Apple Health app at any time.
- You can delete VitalDay's local data from inside the app.
- Deleting the app removes all local VitalDay data from your device.
Notifications
VitalDay uses local notifications only. There is no push notification server in v1.
